It's pretty simple. If you'd like to
submit your indie product to Indie BookShelf for free advertising, simply email info@indiebookshelf.com with "Author Submission" in the subject line and include the following:
1. Name of your content and author name in the manner you wish it displayed (My Book by John Smith)
2. The category or categories that you want it displayed under. Please see the dropdown menu "Browse Genre" for a list of categories currently available.
3. If your work is available for purchase on lulu or amazon, please include the link to your product/storefront (if lulu the content id)
4. If your product is available for purchase using paypal, please indicate so and what the email address or provide the html for a paypal button that you can create if you have a paypal account. If your product is available by mail, please include the address to send the check or money order and the amount that must be sent.
5. For books, please provide an image (jpg format) or an image link that you already use that will fit the specs of 212x320 without distorting the image. We prefer that the image be no bigger than this as it will also be used in a 60x90 format.
6. For CD's and DVD's please provide and image (jpg format) or an image link that you already use that will fit the specs of 320x320 without distorting the image. We prefer that the image be no bigger than this as it will also be used in a 90x90 format.
7. Each product should have a short description. See some of the products for examples.
8. If you have a website or websites that you'd like to display with your work, please include a link, or html code for banners or buttons. Please only include links to your personal sites.
Articles & Reviews
If you'd like to submit an article about indie publishing or a review of an indie book, please email the submission to info@indiebookshelf.com with "Article Submission" or "Review Submission" in the subject line and include the following:
1. Title of the article/review and author name as you wish it to be displayed.
2. Completed article or review (of any length) ready for publishing.
3. Small bio and pic if you'd like them included under the article.
4. Link to your personal website or html code for buttons or banners. Please only include links to your personal websites.
Indie BookShelf will pay for articles about indie publishing and reviews of indie books, music, etc. At this time the pay will not exceed $5.00 per article/review and it is at the discretion of the editor of the site how much will be paid. Once you submit your work for review and it is accepted, you will be contacted with an offer for the work, at which time you will be asked to accept or deny the offer. If you accept the offer you will be asked for your paypal email address, or the address to mail your check. The work remains the sole property of the author, and he may reprint it at anytime under any media without any obligation to Indie BookShelf. Indie BookShelf wishes only to share the ideas, and therefore holds no bounds on the work it displays. The author, however may not ask for his work to be removed from the site to be published elsewhere for at least six calendar months.
